How to get to the Keldagrim mines:
Walk east of Relleka, North of the Fremennik Slayer Cave and northeast of a mining site you will see an exclamation mark on the minimap, That is the tunnel with a Dwarf Statue by it you want to enter:
Then you'll see a small cave entrance with double Dwarf Statues by it, enter that:
Once in the Keldagrim mines, speak to the Dwarven Ferryman and pay him 2 coins to cross the river, then head into the northwestern area where you'll see Dondakan firing his Dwarf Cannon at a wall.
Speak to Dondakan and he'll explain to you that he thinks there's something behind the seemingly impenetrable rock.
He asks you to find information on the rock to see if it has any weaknesses.
Head Southeast and take the ferry to an area with a few dwarves and a big ship.
Head north from here towards the entrance to the mines.
Here you will find a Dwarf Boatsman. Talk to him and he will take you to Keldagrim for free.
(Note: If you haven't done Giant Dwarf Quest you'll see cutscenes and you'll start that quest by default, Ignore that for now or check out our Guide on The Giant Dwarf Quest)
Head to the west-side of the big giant building in the middle of the city.
In this building, there will be a room with an anvil icon on the map. Enter and you will find the Dwarven Engineer.
Speak to the Dwarven Engineer: He'll mention a renowned scholar named Rolad might know something about the rock, but also that he went to the Black Guard of Ice Mountain.
Head to the Dwarven Mines on the surface will be the Black Guard and Rolad will be in a house.
(Note: The following is one option to get to Rolad, you may teleport and walk there as well)
Go to the most southeastern part of Keldagrim and talk to the Cart Conductor near the mine carts.
You will need to use the bridge at the most northern part of the city to cross over the river. You can also cross through the second floor of the large building.
The dwarf will offer to take you to Ice Mountain (and White Wolf Mountain after completion of the Giant Dwarf Quest).
Choose Ice Mountain and he will charge you 150 gold.
Board a cart and you will begin your journey and arrive in the Dwarven Mines.
Speak to Rolad and he'll tell you he's missing three important pages, and that he probably hid them in the mines below.
He said he'll put the book together if you gather them.
The first Page can be obtained by killing any scorpion - It may take you 2 or 3 tries to get it.
The second Page can be obtained by searching any mine cart - It may take you 2 or 3 tries to get it.
The third Page can be obtained by mining any rock - It may take you 2 or 3 tries to get it.
After you find all three pages, head back to Rolad and give them to him and he'll in return give you the Dwarven Lore.
Read the Dwarven lore, then speak to Rolad again and he'll say you can hold onto the book for now.
Head back to the Keldagrim mines and speak to Dondakan, he'll tell you that he tried everything, even adamant, rune and granite with not even a scratch on the rock.
Head to a furnace and make a Golden Cannonball with a Gold Bar and Ammo Mould.
Head back to the Keldagrim mines and use the Golden Cannonball on Dondakan, giving it to him. He'll fire it at the rock and it'll pass through it. The Dwarf then has an idea, to shoot you through it! But to do that: You need a golden helmet and find all the different schematics for the multicannon modifications so that it can shoot a human. He'll give you the first set of Schematics.
Go into Keldagrim and go back to the Dwarven Engineer on the west side of the big building. He'll give you part of the Schematics and tell you that Khorvak, a dwarven engineer under white wolf mountain, might have some schematics.
Head to the Dwarven Tunnel Underground of White Wolf Mountain, speak to Khorvak. He'll tell you he has the schematics but wants a drink, ask him what he wants and he'll say a Dwarven Stout, so grab one off a table and give it to him, and he'll give you the schematics.
For the final schematic, just go to the last page of the book you received from Rolad.
Fixing the Schematings:
This is actually easier than it looks when it first pops up, you'll want to do it one Schematics at a time. The Idea is to get the pieces to fit. Clicking Show will show the Schematic of your choice, Clicking Select will allow you to move it around with the following commands:
Only have red checks on the Schematic 1 and get the body of the human to line up with the base and the rest should fall in-line:
Move on to Schematic 2 and uncheck Schematic 1 to make it easier, you'll want the line of symbols on top that starts with a pentagon, quadralateral a triangle and a trapezoild with two hexagons and two trapezoid-like shapes. You'll want it to line up the head to the body to make all the shapes fall into place:
Right now Schematics 1 and 2 should look like this if you did it correctly:
To complete the schematics you have to line up the last one, which is easily done by aligning the lower-body or the legs of the last schematics to the base:
(Congratulations! You've completed the Schematics!)
Now that you've done the harder part, head to the nearest anvils and smith a gold helmet out of 3 gold bars.
Head back to the Keldagrim mines and speak to Dondakan, tell him you have the schematics assembled and the golden helmet!
Warning: You'll want to have dragonhides on to protect magic and a rune pickaxe on you and as soon as you go in you will need to mine around 5 Gold ores.
As soon as you get in, you'll want to mine around 5 Gold: Afterwards run through the path and Jump through the wall of blue flames to get into the center.
Talk to the wall of blue flames in the center to start the fight with the Avatar of the Demon:
After you defeat it you'll appear outside the Rock near Dondakan, tell him you defeated the avatar and he'll reward you and tell you he'll shoot you into the rock whenever you like:
Rewards: 2 Quest Points, 5000 Defence Experience, 5000 Mining Experience, 5000 Smithing Experience, a Rune Pickaxe and Unlimited Access to the Gold Mines if you have your Golden Helmet on
Gold Mines
To exit the Gold Mines, you must take off your golden helmet to be automatically sucked out of the rock.
Dwarven Boatman: East of Dondakan. An NPC that appears after you complete the quest, if you talk to him he'll offer to take your gold ores to your bank for a fee. 1 Gold Ore Per Load and 1 Gold Ore for every 5 Gold ore you mine. So Every load of 27 Gold Ore should gather you 21 ores in bank.
