Observatory Quest

Requirements: Ability to kill level 42 monster, and at least level 10 crafting.
Items Needed: 3 planks, bronze bar, molten glass, poison antidote/cure potion.
Start: Southwest of Ardougne. There is a little house with the Observatory Professor and Observatory Assistant in it. Talk to the Observatory Professor.

He'll explain to you that the local goblins have broken his telescope, and that he needs 3 planks for a tripod, a bronze tube casing, and a new lens.

If you haven't already, gather three planks. They can be found at the Barbarian Outpost, or in the wilderness.

After you have the planks, talk to the Professor. If you haven't already, mine one copper ore and one tin ore, take the ores to a furnace and smelt them into a bronze bar. Return to the house and talk to the professor.

He'll ask you for some molten glass.

Go to the little goblin houses near the professor's house. In one of them, you will find a bucket of sand.

If you haven't already, acquired some seaweed, you can do so by using a big fishing net with certain fishing spots. Go to a fire or range, and use the seaweed with it. You will get soda ash.

Now that you have sand and soda ash, you can make molten glass. Head to the furnace in Ardougne. Use the soda ash with the furnace and you will get molten glass. Return to the professor and talk to him.

The professor asks you to now find a lens mould. In the professor's house, there is a ladder. Go down the ladder into the tunnels. This is where the lens is located. The following map can be used to navigate through the tunnels.

First, go to the red dot and open the chest. Search it and you will find a keep key.

Next, go to the green dot. Use the keep key with the gate to enter. Search the sacks to find the lens mould. Return to the professor and talk to him.

The professor explains that he can't make the lens. Use the molten glass with the lens mould to make the lens.

Climb back down the ladder and go to the pink dot. Climb up the ladder at the end of the path to enter the Observatory. Talk to the professor. Go and look into the telescope.

A window with a constellation will pop up. After you look, close the window.

The professor will tell you one of the random constellations. Here is an example.

Professor: Libra the scales. The scales of justice award you with law runes. By Saradomin's earlobes! You must be a friend of the gods indeed.

Reward:You will receive three law runes if you get the constellation Libra.
Note:The reward varies depending on what constellation you get.
