The Culinaromancer

By: Geo1988, additions by Data/Loggy

Requirements: Must have completed all of the eight Sub-Quests for the Recipe for Disaster Quest, Desert Treasure, must be able to fight several tough enemies (ranging from levels 121-149), 175 QP
Item/Skills Recommended: High level Mage, Range and Melee; high level food and Mage/Range/Melee equipment; Super Potions

Once you have completed the sub-quests, the Gypsy will release the room out of the time bubble and unfreeze the Culinaromancer. He will then run off into his domain, and you will need to go through to portal to finish off the Culinaromancer.

After the cut scene, you will see the portal inside the dining room where the Culinaromancer resides. You will have to enter it to eventually defeat the Culinaromancer. Before you actually fight the Culinaromancer, however, you will have to fight 5 delightful monsters of his, all with varying strategies to defeat them, found below. It is recommended to read the indivual strategy for the monster you are about to face, go get the desired equipment from the bank (you can use the Culinaromancers chest in the Northeast corner of the basement below the Lumbridge Chef), then go face the monster. After you have defeated one monster, you can (and should) exit from the Culinaromancers domain, read the strategy for fighting the next one, bank what you need, and face it next.

Make sure you are well prepared for the fights you are about to engage in. You will not be able to use prayer when you enter the dimension. Make sure you have appropriate gear for fighting whatever monster is next, and bring high level food - swordfish or higher will do.

When you are ready, enter the portal into the Culinaromancers domain.

The first boss, Agrith-Na-Na (Level-146) is not too hard. Bring the best melee equipment you have and a load of high level food. When you enter the portal, the Culinaromancer will summon Agrith-Na-Na and you will be attacked. He hits around seventeen. Just make sure you eat enough when you are hit and he will be the easiest fight you encounter. After you have defeated the boss, run back out through one of the portals on the sides of the room to prepare for the next fight.

The second boss, Flambeed (Level-149), is a gigantic cake-like monster. Your best hope of defeating Flambeed is mage. Bring high level food along with a high level spell (Wind Wave or above will do). Make sure you bring Ice Gloves ( Hero's Quest ) because if you do not, the monster will burn you hands, forcing you to release your weapon. When you enter the dimension, do not put the spell on auto-cast. You will need to manually cast the spell by clicking on it, then clicking on Flambeed. When the monster appears, shoot at him a few times and run from him. Since he is so gigantic, he will gain ground quickly. Run to a corner of the room, and shoot and him a few times before heading to another corner parallel to you. This will make him follow you around so much that he will not have a chance to hit you. There is a chance of Flambeed being caught behind a portal - therefore allowing you stay a safe distance away and maging him. However, do not waste a lot of time trying to do this - you could easily mess up and give Flambeed a couple of extra chances to hit you. He is capable of hitting twenty-fives, so be careful. When you have defeated Flambeed, run out of the domain to prepare for the next fight.

The third boss, Karamel (Level-136), is an ancient barrage mage. For this battle, bring your mage equipment again. You will also need Super Restores (around three or four depending on your mage level) because when she barrages you, your stats will drain considerably. Take runes for Wind Wave or something higher and fill the rest of your inventory with high level food. When you engage in this battle, get right up next to her. You need to do this because if you mage her from far away, she will hit you with her Ice Barrage more often not enabling you to attack. When you are right next to her, do not auto-cast. Manually cast your magic spell. Keep watch to see if your spell in your book turns dim and drink a super restore. She does not hit very high, but she is capable of hitting in the mid twenties. This will be an easy fight as long as you keep up the spells and watch your health and mage level. Once you have defeated her, head back out the portal and bank.

The fourth boss, Dessourt (Level-121) is a funny looking quick melee monster, also with a ranged attack. Make sure you equip your melee equipment and bring high level food. When you go down through the portal, he will be quick to run at you and attack. He does not hit high very often but he hits very quickly. He will mostly hit fives and sevens but make sure you eat if you see anything above a ten. He will hit you so quickly he will deal thirty or forty damage to you before you have time to attack him once. The best way to defeat him is to watch your health and keep enduring his attacks until you defeat him. When you have defeated him, head back out through the portal and stock up once again on your food and potions.

The fifth boss, the Gelatinnoth Mother (Level-130), is very similar do the Dagannoth Mother in the Horror of the Deep Quest. For your equipment, bring a bit of everything to aid you in defeating her. Wear armour that will protect, but will not hinder your magic too much - wearing some mystic robes or other magic attire with some armour is a good idea. Make sure you have a good melee weapon, but bring whatever you need to be able to cast all four kinds of elemental spells (Strike Spells or Wave Spells will work). You may want to bring some Ranged Gear, but it's not too imporant - I got through the fight without using it.

The Gelatinnoth Mother changes colors showing you which way to do damage to her. The colors are as follows: Blue - Water Spells, White - Air Spells, Brown - Earth Spells, Red - Fire Spells, Orange - Melee Attacks, Green - Range Attacks. For example, when the Gelatinnoth Mother turns red, attack her using Fire Wave or whatever fire spell you plan to use. When you enter the portal, she will be summoned white colored. Again, do not auto-cast. Manually cast your spells keeping watch for the color change, and your hitpoints. The fight is fairly quick if you execute your attacks properly. She hits in the twenties but does not hit very often.

After you've defeated the Gelatinnoth Mother, quickly head out of the portal and prepare for the final fight against the Culinaromancer. Bring your melee gear, and load up on high level food. You may want to use some poisoned dragon daggers or some super potions, but you can probably defeat him without them.

The Culinaromancer (Level-75) may not seem like a challenge for such a low level, but he is. He will attack you just as quickly, maybe a bit slower than the last boss did. When you head down into the portal, he'll come right at you. Drink whatever potions you have quickly, and if you brought any dragon daggers, use their specials, then switch to your main melee weapon. He is capable of dealing twenty-five damage to you at a relatively fast pace. As long as you watch your health, this will be a moderately easy. However, be very careful - if you get too confident because of his low level, you might end up dead.

When you manage to kill him, a short cut scene will show him exploding into delectable little cakes and such.

Leave the portal to complete the quest.
