Tears of Guthix

By: Data/Loggy

(This is a members-only feature.)

Note: This is a 'dangerous' Mini-Game. If you somehow manage to die through poison or some other mischief, you will lose your items.

Location: Deep within Lumbridge Caves

Requirements: Must have completed the Tears of Guthix Quest

The Tears of Guthix is a simple yet useful little Mini-Game. Located in the depths of the Lumbridge Caves, the snake Juna guards the entrance to the chamber containing the Tears of Guthix. You can collect these and gain experience in your lowest skill! Read on to find out how.

Game Overview

While the only actual requirement is the completion of the Tears of Guthix Quest, you will have to traverse through the Lumbridge Caves, which are pitch black - thus, you'll need a light source. You could try to get there in the dark, but you won't be able to see, and bugs will get you. So, grab a light source (a candle will do, though it's unreliable and may go out; if you are going to bring a candle, bring backups, or a tinderbox. The best light source would be a bullseye lantern or some kind of lantern that you can craft or obtain by other means.), and, if you wish, a spiny helmet (to protect from Wall Beasts, which can be damaging) and head into the Lumbridge Caves, either through the entrance in the Lumbridge Swamps, or the entrance in the basement of Lumbridge Castle.

If you enter from the swamps, walk west and then turn south; from there, travel east until you come to a little creek that you can hop over on a rock. Once you have crossed, head south to the cave entrance, enter, and walk through the cave till you see Juna. If you enter from the Lumbridge Castle Dungeons, walk south till you find the same creek that can be crossed over a stone, and follow the same directions.

When you are ready, talk to Juna. He will ask you to tell him a story.

Tell him a story by selecting the top option in the next choice window.

Juna will be pleased, and will explain the game to you somewhat. It's really quite simple. You need to collect as many blue tears from the blue walls as possible.

When Juna lets you in, you take a bowl, and can no longer run. You'll be in a small room with three walls; each has three panels, called Weeping Walls. The Weeping Walls are either blue, green, or blank. As soon as you are let in, quickly click the option to take the tears from the nearest blue wall. Stay there as long as the wall is blue, but look out! If it turns green and you take more form it, your tears amount will go down; if it goes blank, you get nothing. Simply pay attention and whenever your blue wall you were gathering from changes, go to the next nearest one. When collecting the Tears, the menu box on the bottom right side of your Runescape screen will display both how many tears you have and how much time you have left.

When time is up, you will exit the cave and drink the tears you have collected. These tears will grant you experience in your lowest skill. The more tears you collect, the more experience you will earn. Please note the experience 'per tear' is based on how high your lowest level is. When your lowest skill reaches level 30, the experience 'per tear' will remain constant.

Lastly, in your first time of playing the Tears of Guthix, the only requirement is completing the original quest. However, after the first time, you must wait at least a week to play again. In addition, within that week (or more), you must either gain 100,000 XP in any skills (can be spread across more than one skill) or gain one quest point.

Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds!
