Note: This is a 'dangerous' Mini-Game. If you die, you will lose your items.

Location: Barbarian Village - in the building next to the mining rocks, go down the ladder to enter the stronghold

Requirements: None

The dangers to the people of Runescape extend beyond scary dragons and annoying people - things like hackers and things of that nature. However, there are ways to stop them - you can learn about these tricks, and navigate some tricky dungeons for a few rewards, in the Stronghold of Security.

Getting Started

Upon going down the ladder, you be in the first of four dungeons that comprise the Stronghold of Security. The levels are as follows:

The Vault of War

The Catacomb of Famine

The Pit of Pestilence

The Sepulchre of Death

I know they sound dangerous but calm down. The following sections will guide you through the four dungeons. As you travel through each dungeon, there are several things to make note of. First off are the monsters standing in your way. You don't HAVE to fight them. At the start of each dungeon is a portal that will take you to the next dungeon if you have completed that level already. At the end of each dungeon there is a rope to get you out of that place.

When you come across a door and open it, you may have to answer a question about RuneScape Account Security - eg, "How would Jagex contact you about becoming a Player Moderator?" (the answer being through the website message box thing). When you answer correctly, the door opens.

The Vault of War

The Vault Of War is the first level of the Stronghold. It's the easiest level to get through consisting of only a few low-level npcs. This level is multi-combat; however all of the others are not. The table below will tell you what NPC's you will encounter during your travels in the Vault of War.

In order to get to the next level of the stronghold you must first find your reward from the Gift of Peace. To do this make your way to the Exit Room located on the Eastern portion of this level.

You will want to follow this route in order to make it to your reward! Once you make it to the rewards room click on the "Gift of Peace" chest to open it and you will receive your reward, covered further in the Rewards Section.

The Catacomb of Famine

The Catacombs of Famine are only a little bit harder then the first. Unless you're a really low-level this one should be a breeze, too. The table below will show you the enemies you will encounter in the catacomb.

In order to pass through the Catacomb of Famine you must first collect your reward from the Grain of Plenty. To do this make your way to the Exit Room located in the middle of this level.

Once you make it to the exit room click on the "Grain of Plenty" so that you search it and receive your reward.

The Pit Of Pestilence

Uh oh, level 3.. Getting worried yet? This level should pose almost no threat to higher levels, but if you are level 50 or below it's gonna be a hard one! As before, the table below shows the monsters in the pit.

In order to get through the Pit of Pestilence you must first make it to the exit room, where your reward is located. To do this make your way for the Exit Room located in the middle of this level.

Once you get there make sure that you click on the "Box of Health" to get your reward, as well as a full recovery for all your stats.

The Sepulchre of Death

You made it this far? Holy Data Away! You made it to the final level. Beware; however this level is the hardest yet! The table below will reveal to you what you face!

In order to receive your final reward from the Stronghold you must first make it to the exit room of the Sepulchre of Death. It's located in the middle of this level.

Once you get there click on the "Cradle of Life" and search it for your rewards! Use the chain to exit the stronghold.

Rewards

The table below shows all of the stronghold's rewards.

Box of Health	The Pit of Pestilence	When opened, gives you 5,000 coins, a new emote, and replenishes all of your stats (including hitpoints)
Cradle of Life	The Sepulchre of Death	When opened, choice of two pairs of boots *

* - Within the Cradle of Life - which you must have your recovery questions set to open - are two different boots, but you may only choose one. You can swap one for the other if you want to have the other pair.

The Skull Sceptre

By traversing through the Stronghold of Security, you can make yourself a Skull Sceptre.

The following NPC's in the table - all found in the stronghold - drop a part of the sceptre that, when put together, give you a weak weapon with one bonus - it gives you five teleports to the Barbarian Village.

After the five teleport charges are used, the sceptre disinegrates and you must go and make a new one.
