Plundering That Pyramid
Rewards

Pyramid Plunder is a mini-game that involves... Well, plundering! Ever heard of the curse of Tutankhamen? If you're frightened by mummies placing curses on you, this might not be the best mini-game for you. However; if you're bold enough perhaps you'd like to venture in to the Pyramid in order to plunder some booty? (Couldn't resist.. it's fun being a pirate every once in a while!) As you progress through the 8 levels of the Pyramid you will find that there is more treasure to be plundered on each level. However; as you should assume, the more you move up the more traps the ancient guardian mummy has placed, so you must be careful!

The pyramid is located in Sophanem, which means you must have at least started the Icthlarin's Little Helper Quest. There are several ways of accessing Sophanem, once you have completed the quest. You can either catch one of Ali Morrisane's flying carpets from Pollnivneach for only 200 coins, or you could walk straight to Sophanem through the desert. I highly recommend you take one of the carpets.

It is recommended for you to take some food, as well as anti-poison pots. Lockpicks are also a major help when navigating about the pyramid.

Plundering That Pyramid

Once you have finally made your way to the Pyramid you can do one of two things. You can either talk to Tarik, who will explain some of the dangers of the Pyramid, or you can just start searching for the entrance to the Pyramid.

There are four entrances to the Pyramid, one on each side. Only one of the doors, however, is genuine. You'll recognize the true entrance because of the guardian mummy standing in the center of the chamber.

The mummy will explain how the game works, as well as what you can do with your treasures that you obtain. Once you learn all about it you will be teleported to the first chamber of the Pyramid. Each game lasts 5 minutes in which you are allowed to search any of the urns, chests and sarcophagi you can find in the chamber. In the early chambers you are most likely going to find pottery artifacts and ivory combs. As you progress throughout the chambers you are more likely to find stone items or even gold items.

Each urn, chest, and sarcophagi you check requires a check of your thieving level. The lower the level the more likely you are to release a creature or set off a trap. This is why it's handy to have a higher thieving level when playing this mini-game.

There is a possibility that you will find a mummy inside a sarcophagus. The mummies can cause a lot of damage to lower level players. This is why bringing food is a good idea! You must deactivate a trap before you begin to check out the room for loot. If you don't deactivate the "trapped wall" or if you fail to deactivate it, then you will take some damage and be pushed back to the start of the trap.

While you are plundering you can check how much time you have left by either looking at the bar on the bottom left, which also shows what chamber you're in, or by looking at the hourglass on the bottom right. Once your five minutes are up, you are teleported outside of the Pyramid. Once you are ready to move on from plundering you can enter a new chamber by picking the lock on one of the four doors around you. One of the doors is genuine, and the rest are dead-ends.

Rewards

Besides yielding bouts of Thieving experience and valuable archaeological skills, the Pyramid has much more to offer you. The various artifacts you can recover throughout the place can be sold for their worth (indicated in the below table) to Simon Templeton, the chap atop the Agility Pyramid.
