To start this quest, talk to Mord or Maria Gunnars, above the Fremennik Market.

They tell you that that king of Jatizso, King Kjuki Sorvott IV needs your help, so agree to take the ferry to Jatizso. When you find the king (he is in the main sub-building when you walk into the town), you and him will try to have a conversation, but his cat, Hrafn, won't stop meowing until you get him some raw tuna. You can either get it down by the docks by the ferry or go and buy some from the fishmonger if you have none. After you catch the fish, go and talk to the king again.

After you give the cat its fish, you talk to the king again, but his advisor says the Red Axe traders have come early, and he cannot afford to offend them. They are in the hall, eating and drinking, costing them a fortune (typical dwarves). The miners are on the job, but they aren't doing much, and you offer to help the king. Now, you can either go to the mines and mine it yourself, or grab it from the bank next door. Once you have the ore, talk to the king again.

You will now, for the 3rd time, get back to business, hoping for no more interruptions. The king thinks Jatizso's neighbor, Neitiznot, is plotting against his downfall, and he wants you to play your lyre. You tell him about your lyre playing skills, and tells you bards are fools, but that's exactly what he needs, a fool. His spymaster has been sent in the past for missions to entertain the Burhger, but he had an accident yesterday and can no longer spy for the king. He tells you to use the ferry to get to Neitiznot, although you can probably find a bridge route, and to pick up the spy master's "costume", laying in the chest.

When you arrive at Neitiznot, look for the spy master. He is located behind the bank. Tell him "free stuff please", and he will call you Operative Budgie. You will then get the mission briefing.

He tells you to infiltrate Burgher Barrowgar's hall, deep undercover as an entertainer. He and his men are known to relax with an entertainer (and a few barrels of beer). You must entertain the Burgher to get the information required. While you are entertaining him and obeying his instructions, you should listen to the conversation of his council and take note of what they discuss.

Talk to Burgher Mawnis Barrowgar and agree to entertain him, and a cut scene will ensue, where you have to do what he tells you to do, and take note of what the people surrounding him are talking about at the same time. Go back to the spymaster after you finish.

The spymaster will now question you. Tell him it will take 2 days to ready the militia, seventeen have been trained, and 2 bridges are in need of repair. If you do not remember the answer to a question, just guess, and if you get it wrong, try again. After you answer his questions, he will tell you to go and gain the Burgher's trust. The Burgher will ask you to get 8 coils of rope for a building project. You can either take the ropes out of your bank, or make them out of yak hair. Kill yaks just outside the village walls, and they drop yak hair. Use that on the spinning wheel in the south-east of town to get a rope.

Once you have the 8 coils of rope, talk to the Burgher again. He asks you to put the rope coils somewhere safe for the time being, do so. The second task he asks you to do requires 8 arctic pine logs that can be cut around the island. Once you have all 8, take them to the woodcutting stump in the center of the village and split them all. Once you have all 8 split, talk to the Burgher again.

After you bring him the logs and rope, Thakkrad will tell you that he needs you to repair the two bridges leading to the northern isle. To repair each bridge you will need 4 split logs, 4 rope coils, and a knife. Leave the town and head across the first rope bridge north, where you will see a bunch of Honor Guards fighting trolls. Click the repair option, but be careful, for when you're done repairing, you'll end up on a northern isle still, and you'll be surrounded by trolls. Run past them, east to the next bridge and repair it. The Burgher will speak with you again once you have repaired the bridges.

When you go back and speak to the Burgher, he will tell you of his plans to assault the troll caves. And he tells you that "we" have to defeat the Troll King. He says he offers you the honour of leading the Freminnik forces into battle. He also asks you to go back to Jatizso to find out if King Sorvott is planning to stop the assault on the trolls and misinterpret it for an attack on the people of Jatizso. Take the ferry back to Rellekka and travel to Jatizso once more.

Once you are at Jatizso, go and talk to the king. He says he will get his army ready immediately, you try to tell him otherwise, but he doesn't listen. He appoints you as the new tax collector for window tax. You need to speak with some of Jatizso's citizens and collect their taxes. He will hand you an empty money bag, and tells you to shopkeepers. Talk to the shopkeeper of the general store, and he will give you some money - enter 5000 gp and he will pay. Talk to the mother in the building north of the king, and charge her 5000 gp. Talk to the man in the shop with the anvil, and charge him 6000 gp. Then talk to the Weapons seller and charge him 8000 gp. Talk to the king when you're done.

The king and chancellor will tell you you didn't collect enough money for the new equipment, so sacrifices have to be made. He will now want you to tax on beards. Go around and charge everyone for the taxes that they "owe" the state once more. Pretty much, just ask the people you asked last time with the exception of the woman, and you can now also ask the assistants in the general and weapons stores for taxes, which you couldn't last time. Once you have collected all these taxes, the king tells you that you were so successful on your last espionage mission, that he wants you to do it again, and to find out about the bridge repairs. Take the ferry to Neitiznot once more. Talk to the spy master once you get there. Go and do your whole jester routine once more, and once again, listen to what the council talk about. Answer the spymaster's questions once again: the fleet is hidden near Etceteria, the army is being supplied potions, and when he asks who is helping the king, tell him it is the advisor.

After you have answered the questions, go back and talk to the king of Jatizso. You explain to him what the Burgher is doing. It is not an army he is amassing, it is in fact a raiding party to the ice trolls. You then give the king a piece of your mind, which I found hilarious, and he then says he can't let his cousin steal the glory and amasses an army to defeat the Troll King himself. The king then gives you a decree and asks you to give it to Mawnis Barrowgar. You then tell Mawnis of King Sorvott's plans to get to the Troll King first and claim the glory for himself, so they know they have to get ready and get there first; so, as champion to be, Thakkrad talks to you about the traditional Freminnik rites.

He says first you must craft yourself armour from yak hides. Go and kill three yaks, return to Thakkrad, give them to him, and he will "cure" the hides for you. Talk to him again. He will say you need a needle and thread to be able to craft this armor. Once you have completed making the armor top and legs, talk to the Burgher again. He will instruct you to make a Freminnik round shield. To do this, get 2 arctic pine logs, a rope, a bronze nail, and a hammer, and make the shield on a stump in the center of the village. Once you have all the armor, talk to the Burgher again. He will appoint you as the champion of Neitiznot. Congratulations!

You are then told to defeat the troll king. Gear up; while you need the Yak Hide Armour and the Shield, try to fill up every other armour slot with useful items. Grab some prayer potions and as much food as you can and move out. Crossing the two bridges, go as north as you can. When you reach the coast, head east until you see a cave marked by an exclamation point on the mini-map. This island, as well as the cave coming up, is OVER-RUN by trolls - some throw rocks, other smack you. I suggest protect from range. Once you get to the easternmost cave, enter, and a cutscene will follow.

You learn you have to slay 10 trolls to be able to slay the troll king, he is past a bridge to the south of the cave. The commander of Neitiznot's troops will order them to report to you, and they will charge forward and begin fighting the troll. Join your men! It can get rough in there. If you need a break, fall back by the commander, who you can request supplies from - when asked, he will give you four prayer potions, four strength potions, and about six tuna. I suggest to use the Strength Potions as much as possible.

Once you have slain ten trolls, you will be sent a message. Put on your Protect from Missiles if it isn't on and run past the trolls to the other end of the cave. Go over the bridge and meet the troll king.

Be warned: he is a pretty tough fight, until you understand how he works. At first I recommend activating your Protect from Missiles Prayer, since rocks will be thrown at you when you are far from the troll. When you attack, every so often the Troll King will send you flying with a mighty whack, and you will be thrown into the wall. You may end up in a small glitch where it becomes impossible to damage him because he throws you so much; however there is a way around this. Turn off the auto-retaliate option, and if you are being thrown too much, click away from the king to get a good bit away and be able to charge back at him.

When the troll's health gets to about half, he will stop throwing you and start freezing you. Change your prayer to Protect from Melee. He may freeze you a few times in a row, doing some damage; however, this part is easier since you can eat more and you don't have to keep running at him.

Once you have slain him, decapitate his dead body, take the head, and get out. If you have a good amount of prayer and food left, then you can probably make it out of the cave and back across the islands; otherwise it is very risky, and teleporting out is recommended. Once you have the head, talk to the Burgher to complete the quest.

Congratulations! Quest complete!
