Location: Burthorpe, under the Toad & Chicken Pub - climb down the trapdoor

Requirements: 50 Agility and 50 Thieving; 80 Thieving recommended to access the shortcuts (but not needed)

The Rogue's Den is a sinister, dangerous dungeon located beneath Burthrope. It is a challenge that requires cunning, agility, and a high thieving level. Is the reward worth the challenge? You decide!

Getting Started

Using your gaming necklace, teleport to the Games Room (Or walk. Whichever tickles your fancy.). Once at Burthorpe, enter the trapdoor of the Toad and Chicken pub and speak with Brian O'Richard about the den, and you will receive a Mystic Jewel. Martin Thwait sells some supplies, and Emerald Benedict offers a bank.

After taking the jewel, you can head over to the doorway (looks like grills or bars) and enter. You can only enter if you have ONLY the jewel in your inventory - you will not be granted access with any other items in your inventory or on your person.

Game Overview

The Rogue's Den is a massive maze filled with obstacles. You must try to get to the middle, where rewards await you. All obstacles require either thievery or agility to overcome, and overcoming them will dock either thieving levels or agility levels.

Throughout the den, there are doors to the viewing area. If you enter this area, you forfeit your location in the den, though you can look at the den and plan your route or watch other players progress.

Walkthrough

In front of your will be your first obstacle, floor spikes.

Search the floor trap and you'll move onto it. Step off and you'll have another obstacle in front of you, spinning blades.

Content Image

Be sure to stay away from the spinning blades and move to the west path, climb through the Contortion Bars.

Content Image

There are no traps here so head straight for the Pendulum and click on the other side of it, you'll automatically jump through it.

Content Image

Head through the rectangle of floor traps, being sure to search each square of traps. Once out of the traps head to the north Grill door (Much like the one to entered the den through) Be sure the to search the floor traps in front of the door!

Before heading too far, seach to walls for traps. Once the wall traps have been temporarily disarmed, step forward and search the floor traps until you are on the other side.

Now you are at the opening of a narrow walkway. There are two floor traps in here, search them. There are no more traps after there, until you get to a fork in the path, go to the north path and climb the ledge.

When you are on the other side, there are no traps, head west until you come to a curved path, head down it until you see some blades in the floor. Click on the other side of them and you should automatically jump over them.

Content Image

When you've crossed over the blades, you'll be given more choices of where to go, go north towards the row of Pendulums, after automatically crossing those, walk across the ledge. There wont be any traps until the path becomes narrower.

Content Image

You can either search the floor traps and go right through the middle, or go down the side of the floor traps and search the walls. Again you wont have to face any traps. Go west and north again, and enter the passage way.

Automatically cross the blade and keep going forward, there are no traps in here. Go through the passage way at the end. Walk east until you get you a round column in the middle of the path, head south down the narrow path. Search all the wall traps, there are six, three on each side.

Head through the path and open the grill door. You will see a spinning blade east of you, go towards it, but be sure to go around it, leaving as much space between you and the blade as possible. Climb across the ledge.

Search the walls of the path in front of you and then you will be faced with a room of floor blades, cross over on one of the singular blades.

Pick up the tile circled in the picture below and open the door, you will be presented with a picture with a piece missing, click the piece you picked up on the screen.

Open the grill and make your way through the maze using the map below.

Head down the west path, there are no traps down here. When at the end take the west route again. When the path narrows, there will be wall traps, search them.

Continue down and open the grill gate. Disarm the floor traps and open the next gate, disarm the rest of the floor traps and cross the Pendulum.

Content Image

Follow the path around and search the floor trap in the narrowed square, continuing down the narrow, east path, searching all the floor traps.

Head north and you will find yourself in a large room with spinning blades and floor traps, walk down the west side, like I have in the photo below.

Follow the narrow path around and make sure you stand where I am below.

Content Image

There will be two red dots (Flash powder) and two yellow dots (Guards). When the guards aren't on the map, run and get the north flash powder, and run back to the spot shown.

Now wait for the north guard to come onto the screen and use your flash powder on him, then run past him, don't stop running until you get to the two pendulums. Enter the room to the west, and pick the wall safe for your reward.
