The God Spells can be used after some training and the completion of the Mage Arena Mini-Game.
When you first complete the Mage Arena, you receive a God Staff, and you can choose between the Saradomin, Guthix and Zamorak Staves. You also receive the respective God's cape, which increases your magical stat bonuses when worn.

These staves allow you to cast one of three special spells (one for each God): Saradomin Strike, Claws of Guthix and Flames of Zamorak. These spells require the appropriate staff to be wielded, as well as requiring a number of runes. Each spell must be cast 100 times successfully within the Mage Arena before it can be used outside.

To obtain different God Staves (and consequently additional 'God Spells') you must pay 80,000 coins (per staff) to Kolodion, the guardian of the Mage Arena. To use the new spell outside the Mage Arena, you must again cast it 100 times within.

Note: If you die and lose a God Staff, you will have to buy a new one from Kolodion for 80,000 coins, but you will not be required to re-learn the spell associated with that staff, if you have already learnt it.

Note: At level 80 Magic, you can cast the Charge spell, which increases your 'God Spell''s power for 5 minutes, allowing you a damage increase if wearing the appropriate God's cape.

To cast an Iban Blast spell, you need to complete the
Underground Pass Quest and obtain the Iban staff, wield it, and have all the needed runes. This spell can do major damage. However, you may only cast the Iban Blast spell 120 times (if cast on another player, it takes up 2 casts) before having to journey back through the pass and find the place where Iban previously was, and recharge your staff in the well. Should you lose the staff, broken staffs are dropped by Iban Disciples; this can be fixed for 200k by Lucien in Ardougne.

Combat Assistance Spells

There are still more regular Magic Combat Spells. These spells aren't your usual combat spell. Instead of their only use being inflicting damage, they do some other useful things.

The above spells can all be used during combat against an opponent; however, each type can only be used once. These spells are useful for weakening your opponent and giving you an advantage.

They can also be used for cheap training. If you are wearing as much armoured gear as possible, then you will constantly fail on these spells. However, they will still give you the same xp regardless of your success. So you can keep casting it to gain xp.

Teleportation Spells

A teleportation spell is a spell that, when cast on another player, will teleport them to a set spot in Runescape, depending on the spell. There are two kinds of regular magic teleportation spells in Runescape: regular teleportation spells, and teleother spells. Every teleport spell requires a certain amount of law runes to cast.

Lumbridge Home Port

There is a special teleport spell that can be cast anywhere, by anyone, without any use of runes. The Lumbridge Home Port is available to all players - it requires no runes or even magic level. This spell will teleport you to Lumbridge. While it is free and useful, be careful with it. Casting it takes much longer then most spells, and it will be interrupted by combat. After casting it, you must also wait 30 minutes to cast it again.

Regular Teleportation Spells

Regular Teleportation spells will teleport you and you only to the spot specified in the spell name. For example, Camelot Teleport will teleport you to Camelot Castle; Falador Teleport will teleport you in Falador; Watchtower Teleport will teleport you to the Watchtower in Yanille; and so on. There are eight regular teleport spells in all.

Teleother Spells are a special kind of teleportation spell. When cast on another player (and the target player ‘accepts aid’), the target player will be teleported the place that that specific spell teleports to. For example, if you cast ‘Teleother Lumbridge’ on another player and they accepted, that player would be teleported to Lumbridge.

Please note: For the Teleother Spells to work, both parties (the spellcaster and the target) must have 'accept aid' on.

Enchantment Spells

There are six different kinds of Jewelry Enchantment Spells in Runescape. Each different spell concerns one of six different gems: saphirre, emerald, ruby, diamond, dragonstone, or onyx. Each spell can be used to enhance an item of jewelry with the specific gem. For example, you could cast the Enchant Level 2 spell on a either a Emerald Ring (To make it a Ring of Dueling), an Emerald Amulet (To make it an Amulet of Defence) or a Emerald Bracelet (To make it a Castlewars Bracelet). Each of the different enchanted peices of jewelry have different effects and bonuses. For more information, see the Crafting Guide.

Orb-Charging Spells

Another kind of Enchantment Spell can be cast on uncharged orbs. There are four kinds of Orb-Charging spells - Charge Air Orb, Charge Water Orb, Charge Earth Orb, and Charge Fire Orb. When an uncharged orb is taken to an element obelisk and the correct amount of runes are present, the charge orb spell for that obelisk can be cast on the uncharged orb to charge it for that element. For example, if you wanted to charge a Fire Orb, you would take the required runes and an uncharged orb to the Fire Obelisk (located in the Taverly Dungeons), and then you could cast the spell on the orb to make it into a Fire Orb. Charged Orbs are used to put on crafted Battlestaffs to turn it into a battlestaff of that element. For more information, see the Crafting Guide.

Bolt Enchantment

You can also enchant bolts in Runescape for your crossbows, to make the bolts stronger and give them certain effects.

Information on Bolt Enchantment can be found here.

Miscellaneous Spells

The following contains all the rest of the Runescape magic spells, along with information about each type.

Alchemy

Alchemy spells can be used on any item in Runescape to turn it into a certain amount of gold. There are two kinds of alchemy spells: low level and high level. When low level alchemy is cast on an item, the amount of gold pieces you get is equal to what you would get if you sold it to the general store. When you use high level alchemy, the amount of GP you get is the same as if you sold it to a specialty store (E.G., the specialty store for a Mithril Long Sword would be the sword shop in Varrock). Please note that the alchemy prices do not match that of the prices of players - so, for example, since a Party Hat only sells for 1gp in the General Store and it has no specialty store, it is only ‘alched’ for 1gp. Both require nature runes.

There is one last miscellaneous spell. The spell is Super Heat Items, and can be used to turn ore into bars, providing you have the right amount of ore in your inventory. For example, if you had the right runes and cast Super Heat Items on an iron ore in your inventory, it would turn into an iron bar. It will never fail the smelting.
